Gracie Furlong Varsity Volleyball - September

Gracie had another great week of volleyball leading her team to an impressive 18-1 record so far. This week in big wins over East Dubuque and West Carroll she had 23 kills, 3 blocks, 10 digs, and 5/5 serves. Coach Wills said, “Gracie is playing at a very high level right now and was a huge contributor in our two sweeps of East Dubuque and West Carroll. Gracie’s athletic ability is simply amazing!  When on the court she is all in, every match, every game and every point. It is truly fun to watch her play.”

Myles Schumacher JV Football - Myles had a big night against Stockton last Monday night as he had 3 rushing touchdowns of 69, 23, and 20 yards. This gives him 9 touchdowns in 4 games. He also had some big defensive tackles throughout the game. Coach Decker commented, “Myles has done a nice job all season. He has run well for the JV team all year.  The work he has put in in the weight room and during the track season has really improved his athleticism.  I look forward to seeing him continue to work hard and become a great player for us in the future.”

Kendra Bauer 8th Grade Volleyball - Kendra had 8 kills this past week in victories over Shullsburg and Potosi. Coach Stumpf said, “Kendra has made great gains over the course of the season. Her hard work and determination helped drive the team to victory this week with wins over Shullsburg and Potosi. Kendra has been working extremely hard and her passion for the game is one to admire. She shows great potential for the upcoming years in volleyball.”

Layla Schemehorn 8th Grade Volleyball - Layla also played a big part in wins over Shullsburg and Potosi this past week. She contributed 4 aces and 2 kills. Coach Stumpf commented, “Layla's energetic attitude and love for the game is contagious. Her positive outlook makes her a great supporter of her teammates, both on and off the court. Layla has made some great growth this season already.”

Leah Vincent 7th Grade Volleyball - Leah collected 18 aces and 7 kills in the two matches this past week. Coach Rigopoulos stated, “Leah plays an important role on our team with her consistency in the front and back row. Leah shows great commitment to her team and always treats her teammates with respect. She pushes herself to improve each game and is always encouraging her peers to do the same.”

Keinan Lyden 8th Grade Football - Keinan had a big game this past Tuesday in a 42-20 victory over Dakota. He carried the ball 17 times for 240 yards and 5 touchdowns.  He also had two 2 pt conversion runs. Coach Sincock said, “With our defense struggling early, Keinan did a great job of getting momentum back with some big plays. He had some great blocking by the offensive line and was able to break multiple tackles on a couple of his long touchdown runs.”
